While our current war in the Middle East is mismanaged and misguided, we are still at war. We need to be reminded who we are up against and we need to realise who declared this war. Geert Wilder gives us a compilation of Islamic violence and torture that speaks for itself.

I don't care how many of you say that Islam is a religion of peace. Because you say it does not make it so.1 Enough Muslims embrace a religion of violence, taken straight from the Qur'an, that Islam is a danger to our lives and the Qur'an is a dangerous book with the power to inspire destruction.

There are 1.61 muslims in the world, the MAJORITY in SE Asia. Terrorists, totalitarians and fascists make up less than 5 percent. If we are to to continue making a case for critical thought, we cannot state that the actions of some MUSLIMS can be attributable to all, just as we cannot say that the actions of so CHRISTIANS can be attributable to all, or the ctions of some ATHEISTS can be attributable to all. We have to promote critical rational thinking like when the (insert holy text) says you should kill (insert random tragressor) for (insert random transgression) how is that in the scheme of things a rational decision etc etc..... Any woo just a call for critical thinking on your part.

5% is enough. But it's even more than that. Notice I didn't say that all Muslims embrace violence or that even a good percentage of them are violent. However, a very large group of Muslims (possibly an overwhelming majority... but we will never know as long as we're not allowed to survey the populations of these countries) embrace the violence, whether they actually participate or not. Most Middle Eastern Muslims support their Imams and the majority of the Imams condone and even celebrate violence.
Also, your "Well, there's bad Christians and bad Atheists too" argument sinks like a lead balloon filled with handfulls of WTC rubble. I've yet to see a "bad" Christian or Atheist blow up a building for the fun of it or decapitate a journalist. It's not often you hear of an Antitheist Atheist blowing up his Pinto at a GOP rally or a Baptist church choir member walking into a sex shop with a bomb on his chest. Ba'hais, Jews, Hindus, Rastafarians and agnostics don't issue orders for all other members of their religious persuasion to be on the lookout for certain no-goodniks and kill them immediately by any possible means, no questions asked. Do I need to say more?
While all adherents of Islam are not terrorists and scimitar wavers, the terrorists and scimitar wavers of today are almost all Muslim. Not all Muslims know exactly what size suicide vest to buy at Macy's, but no one but Muslims don such an outfit.
Now... tell me where my critical thinking is lacking please.

If only 5% of 1.6 billions are terrorists, totalitarians and fascists, that would be
80 millions. For reference, Germany had less than 80 millions people in 1939, most of whom were not terrorists, totalitarians and fascists. Yet the world was plunged into war by the actions a minority of its population.

We have to stop this nonsense about "you can't attribute the small number of radicals to 'all' Muslims." Look, nobody is saying that ALL Muslims are terrorists.
However, a HUGE number of terrorists THESE days are Muslims. Of the total number of terrorists, the VAST MAJORITY are Muslim.
Now, as for why some Muslims are engaging in terrorism - it's absolutely clear that they are doing so BECAUSE OF ISLAM. They read their holy texts. They listen to their "learned" leaders, Imams and other clerics, and they feel that killing Van Gogh, threatening to kill Rushdie, burning down Danish Embassies, and threatening to kill LiveLeak personnel is the required course of action based on their religion. That's what they, the terrorists, say themselves. That's what their Imams and clerics say. I think it's fair to take them at their word.
That doesn't mean that all Muslims are doing it, and nobody is saying that they are.
And the final point here is - it doesn't matter what's in the Fitna video. I've seen it, and all it is is quotes from the Koran juxtaposed with people doing exactly what the quotes from the Koran suggest. Nothing in it is fabricated or exaggerated. One may take away whatever conclusion one wants from it, but what one can't say is that the statements made in it are untrue. However, that's not the issue. Even if it was a pack of stupid and incorrect statements, that would not warrant refusing to allow us, the people, to read it. That does not justify murder threats to shut people up.
It is absolutely unthinkable that we are bowing to pressure from people threatening MURDER and MAYHEM and PROPERTY DESTRUCTION to coerce us into shutting up. Even if Geert Wilders is thought to be repulsive and evil - he must be allowed to speak, publish, and express himself.
In conclusion, do you find it curious that people are protesting Geert Wilders' characterization of Islam as violent by doing what? THREATENING VIOLENCE? I want to say that it's ironic, but actually, it's not. It's quite expected and consistent with with what one would expect to occur.....just very telling....
